Impressions of Jewish India, with guest speaker Ruth Rohn, via Zoom

Last year Ruth and a small group organized a professionally guided tour of the Jewish communities of India with a focus on Jewish life, past and present.  This vast country of dramatic contrasts, cultural richness and religious diversity has been home to Jews for centuries. Through anecdotes and visuals that Ruth and her husband Paul collected throughout their trip, Ruth will present some of the history and unique character of the Jewish communities they visited in Mumbai, Cochin and Calcutta and some of their deep impressions of the country at large.

About Ruth:

Our guest, Ruth Rohn, has degrees in Linguistics, Education and Counselling, and continues to be a lifelong learner with a passion for teaching. Ruth is currently an adult educator at First Narayever Congregation in Toronto, and an avid reader, singer, language learner, and folkdancer.
